Everyone loves to take pictures, so we decided to review the best home photo printers to assist in the national past time of picture taking and the ever popular selfie. As we compare photo printers we want you to know that your thousands of daily digital photos are important to us as I am sure they are all your social media friends and family.

What we want to do is find you the best all in one photo printer that will allow you to actually hand a photo to your loved ones instead of just stalking each other on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc…

You might say we see these photo printer reviews as our contribution to letting you actually see your family in person instead of via some cyber method.

Photos have evolved over the years. We started with a craftsman with a chisel and some stone. The photos were lasting but really heavy. Then we evolved to drawings and paintings. Classy, but time consuming. Then came instant cameras with exchangeable film, but you still had to send it off somewhere to get developed. Not sure how we ever survived the wait. Next, you could go to your local Wal-Mart, insert a memory card into a machine and print pictures right then. This took care of our need for instant gratification but you still had to put on your best pajamas and head to Wal-Mart.

Finally, we now have the ability to print photos right from our house with a home photo printer. We have come a long, long way and can now take more useless photos than ever before. Plus, we can print them while we eat potato chips and drink wine (was going to say beer but decided to keep this classy).

So, what are we looking for in our best color photo printer reviews?

We always include price as a feature we look at. As we have stated before expensive does not necessarily mean better (within reason of course). When we compare photo printers we take price into consideration with features and quality.
Price of the cartridges. Don’t you just hate it when you buy a photo printer at a cheap price only to find out the replacement cartridges cost $300.00 each? Ok, we exaggerate but you get the point. A photo printer might not be such a good deal if it costs a small fortune to use it.
Number of cartridges. Color printing is never easy right? This can be somewhat of a trade off. The more cartridges the better the picture usually but the more expensive.
Size of photos. This is a personal choice but you should at least be able to print a standard 4×6 picture. We looked for 4×6 photo printers when conducting our reviews. We did include a couple that couple that could not print 4×6 photos because we thought we might be bias because we are old. Maybe young people like smaller pictures.
We will not say that brand is not important when comparing photo printers but do not become blinded by the name brand. There is an implied quality with certain brands but sometimes you can find a good deal that is not a name brand.
This is really a convenience factor. Something you should consider but not necessarily a requirement. We like the wireless option because we are lazy and just want to press buttons, not hook up wires. Who can ever remember where those wires are anyway. I have a whole draw full of them and not sure what half of them do.
Actual user experience is important when reviewing photo printers. Let’s face it if the printer has a thousand reviews and is high rated not only can you read what some of the problems are you know if the photo printer has been frequently bought and well used.
